The story of Esther, from the Bible, is the foundational inspiration for Everyday Esther Incorporated.
The book of Esther involves an "everyday" woman who was promoted for purpose, and became a Queen. But this promotion came at a cost. She was faced with a dire situation - to remain silent and potentially save herself, or speak up in hopes of saving her people - but risk her life.
Though many of us do not face such extremes on a regular basis, the inspiration from the story is to encourage the "ordinary" woman to accept and fulfill her extraordinary call.
Everyday Esther seeks to provide a safe space where the "everyday" young woman can show up as her authentic self to be armored up with strength, wisdom, kindness, and Christ-like character, as she prepares to embrace the one-of-a-kind design for her life, as ordained by her Creator.

Birthed from the Biblical book of Esther, our nonprofit org. equips young women and girls to discover their value and operate in their purpose.
Everyday Esther is a faith-based organization that is rooted in and empowered by the unadulterated Word of Jesus Christ.
We envision a global renaissance of power-packed women and girls ready to embrace their unique callings, with knowledge of who they are and wisdom of what to do!
It all started in Twitchell Hall at Hampton University during our founder's freshman year of college. In her dorm room, during quiet time with God, she received vision for what Everyday Esther would be today.
In the summer of 2018, we began conducting workshops for girls from marginalized communities in Washington DC and Northern VA. We conducted countless workshops about self-esteem, respect, and personal purpose.
We had our first vending experience at a Christian convention in Philadelphia, PA! We got to connect with some amazing people, hear their stories, and share ours.
As the school year commenced, our founder started hosting events at her college apartment and lead gatherings on campus for young women from Hampton University and surrounding schools.
A believer in turning dreams into reality, and a lover of all things good - Zipporah Marie Baldwin is a native of Northern Virginia and a Business Management graduate from Hampton University. With her coexisting passions of being her own boss, uplifting women and girls, alongside sharing her passionate love for Christ, in April 2018, Zipporah founded the nonprofit organization, "Everyday Esther".
Fun facts: In her free time, she loves to read fiction and study French language. She also finds great enjoyment in fashion styling, writing, and public speaking! Her bucket list goal is to set foot in as many foreign nations as she possibly can!
What Everyday Esther means to her: To Zipporah, Everyday Esther is more than just an organization; it's a ministry - a global ministry: "I was reading the book of Esther one evening and God began to unfold this entire vision to me. The treacherous experiences and triumphant victories that Esther endured were profound and are still so relevant today. In this true story, an orphan (Hadassah), becomes a Queen (Esther). With your willingness, this can be the story of every ordinary woman and girl desiring to fulfill her extraordinary calling as a Queen."
Jhayla is a native of Chesapeake, VA and serves as the Program Coordinator for Everyday Esther Inc. She is responsible for facilitating our Online Life Groups and serves as a lead for new program launches and ongoing initiatives. She is passionate about podcasting, serving her local community, her ministry work of speaking, and spreading the Good News of Jesus!
Experience: Previously, Jhayla served as a Site Director for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads. Over the course of 5 years in service to her local community, she facilitated trainings, developed lesson plans, and cultivated safe environments for Hampton Roads' youth to develop their character and engage positively with their community.
Today, Jhayla is the host of the “Beautifully Made” Podcast - a platform created to help others understand that they are beautifully made in God's image, inspired by Psalm 139:14. Jhayla wants people to encounter God each time they listen to her podcast and know that she's not speaking by her own strength, but by God’s alone.
Fun fact: "I am a big kid at heart and a person who loves to laugh even in the most awkward moments!"
What she loves about Everyday Esther: “What I love about Everyday Esther is first the community. Zipporah has built a safe community where young people can feel safe, accepted, and not judged to be themselves or ashamed of their past, present or future. I love that Everyday Esther is trying to show people through community, service and education that we are all beautiful and that God has graced us all with his love and kindness.”
